Reclaiming Youth Ireland was established in 2011 to promote best practice strategies and relational practices, for working with children, youth and families, specifically in out of home care or ‘on the edge’ of being admitted to care. These strategies, practices and skills are also transferrable into other disciplines, such as Intellectual Disability.

The Reclaiming Youth Ireland philosophy is based on RELATIONAL PRACTICE principles, and draws from influences such as:

  • Positive Psychology
  • Resilience Research
  • Neuro-Relational Research
  • Relational Practice, and
  • The Circle of Courage Needs approach.

Reclaiming Youth Ireland provides support and training to anyone working with or living with childrens and youth who exhibit challenging behaviours and/or have specific additional needs. These can be family members, carers, foster carers, and professions such as:

  • Social Workers
  • Child & Youth Care Workers
  • Educational Welfare staff
  • Social Care staff
  • Teachers
  • Therapists.
